Tournament Performances

Pride FC soccer teams
excelled at the 2008
Crusader United Cranberry
Cup held in Carver
Massachusetts this past
weekend of August 9 & 10th.
Both teams came away taking
honors as first runner up in
each of the Girls U10 and
Girls U11 divisions .
The Pride FC Girls U10 team,
Coached by Chris Carvalho of
Somerset, MA played
exceptionally well. The
girls played their way right
into an action packed final
match that was tied at the
end of regulation, tied at
the end of overtime, and
went down to the wire with a
final missed shot during
PK's against a very well
coached and talented
Crusader United squad.
Tiverton, RI's Bill
Sampaio's Pride FC Girls U11
team faced a difficult
schedule playing 3 games
nearly back to back in the
heat of the day on Saturday.
Despite this, the girls
played through some tough
moments and prevailed in a
very exciting semi-final
game on Sunday that was won
during PKs after being tied
during regulation and
overtime. In the Finals they
were beat by a dominant
South Shore Select team by a
score of 2-0. Eileen Kinnane
who played keeper during the
final match was named MVP.
The Pride FC Soccer club is
locally based and is
comprised of players from
the Greater Fall River Area,
East Bay Rhode Island and
various surrounding
communities. We are
celebrating our 5th year
of operation this year and
start playing games in both
Massachusetts Premier Soccer
League and the Massachusetts
Soccer Conference again this
Fall. The Girls
squads still have roster
spots open and would be
interested in filling those
few spots before the season
starts in September. If

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL
PRIDE FC FAMILIES
Pride
FC
announces the
implementation of an online
payment system for all
campers and team players.
As of this date, all
remaining outstanding payments
must be made
online, and in full, for
campers to attend and team
players to be rostered.
Team players will be charged
the initial deposit amount
as stipulated in their
contract and the balance
will be charged in 8 easy
monthly installments
thereafter.

Pride FC is a Premier Youth
Soccer and F
utsal
Club that serves premier
soccer players from the
Greater New Bedford, Greater
Fall River, Greater Taunton
Communities and the East Bay
Region of Rhode Island. The
club will be conducting its
annual team tryouts in June.
Its teams participate in
Massachusetts Premier soccer
and futsal leagues as well
as in select tournaments
throughout the seasons of
play. This year the Pride FC
Girls U10 and U11 teams will
be attending the 2008 USFF
National Championships in
July in Baltimore, Maryland.
All players should arrive 15
minutes prior to the
scheduled tryout for their
age group, fully dressed to
play and with a soccer ball
and water bottle.
All tryouts are being
held at the soccer fields of
the New England Christian
Academy at 271 Sharps Lot
Rd., Swansea, Massachusetts.
Tryouts start at 5:45 PM on
each date as follows. Boys
and girls teams for Under 9,
Under 10, Under 11 and Under
12 years of age on Saturday
June 14th.

Pride FC academy Training
for Saturday 05/10th will be
postponed due to the
weather.

Pride FC Coaches Chris
Carvalho and Larry Medeiros
along with some of their U10
and u12 girls recently
participated in the shooting
of the soon to be released
Futsal Training System,
futsal training video being
produced by the
international award winning
Grassroots Films of New
York. The film
involving some 30 players
from around New England was
orchestrated at the
Forekicks Sports Complex in
Norfolk, Massachusetts and
is sponsored in part by Joma
USA, Select and U.S. Futsal
as the initial part of a
campaign to assist in player
and coach education of the
basic elements of the sport
of
Futsal. The initial
release of this film is
schedule for July 10th at
the Annual US Futsal
National Championships in
Baltimore Maryland.
04/21/2008:
We have scheduled a
scrimmage for gu11 vs.
Mariner on Thursday, May
15th from 5:30-7 PM at the
Mariner Fields in Fairhaven.
Have the girls wear their
white jerseys & socks and
arrive 30 minutes before
game time. Directions
to Mariner:

Take
the Rt. 240 exit from
I-195 to Fairhaven.

Proceed to the second set
of traffic lights
-
Turn
left onto Rt. 6 East.

Proceed on Rt. 6 East for
approximately 1 mile
-
Turn
left into the Lifestyles
Plaza.

Proceed straight to the
back of the plaza to the
entrance to the Mariner
fields.
